Our Workshops

All classes include patterns and tuition with the aim to enhance your confidence as well as technical skills. Please see class descriptions below and refer to calendar page for bookings. Available as either workshops or private lessons

Learn to Knit

Our beginner knitting project is a simple one ball project that covers the basics of knitting for absolute beginners or those needing to refresh their skills. It is quick and satisfying start to your your knitting journey with confidence and leave you keen for more! Available in class setting or as a private lesson, does not include materials.

Suitable for absolute beginners or those in need of a refresher session, in this workshop you will learn casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, decreasing and casting off. We offer free children’s tuition when accompanied by full paying adult. (Ts &Cs apply) You will need to bring 10mm straight needles, 1x ball Rowan Big Wool or King Cole Super Chunky if synthetic yarn is preferred.

Fairisle & Intarsia

Colour work knitting looks impressive- once mastered is easy and incredibly satisfying and will enhance your knitting projects significantly. We offer classes featuring a small project in Fairisle and Intarsia that will give you the necessary skills to use forthwith on larger projects. Materials included in this class.

Cables & Aran

A next- step workshop that introduces the method of directional knitting to create cables and textures in knitting. The results look intricate and the technique is far easier than it looks. This 3 hour workshop aims to build confidence as well as skills.

Materials are included in this class.

Introduction to Lace

A one skein project that demonstrates the technique of lace knitting, reading charts and understanding knitting terminology. A great next step class for beginners looking to move on.

Joy of Socks

Socks are incredibly satisfying and addictive project to knit. Whilst they look complicated they are the perfect introduction to knitting in the round. Run over 3 sessions with sections to complete in your own time. This workshop includes materials.

Knit Along with us

You’ve learnt to knit! but what next? Accessories are one thing, but larger garments can feel like a dream in terms of commitment and materials. The aim of a Knit Along is getting you started knitting your first garment in a supported environment to build your confidence and understanding of fit, pattern terminology and trusting the process. From beginner sweaters to in-the-round and more advanced techniques each project is broken down into sections and run as a series of workshops that cover the techniques needed to create gorgeous garments that you’ll enjoy wearing.

Finishing School

Let Wool Winders show you how to complete your beautifully knitted creations to a professional standard. Our finishing school is a 3 hour workshop that shows you not only how to sew up garments neatly but also shares tips, tricks and advice for perfecting your techniques and finishing your hard work to a professional standard.
